Georgia Power Valdosta FCU is sponsoring a Child Safety Day
on October 16, 2007. All children up through middle school
age are invited to participate.
John Keliher with American Income Life Insurance Company
will provide Child Safety Kits to all children who attend. These
kits, endorsed by the International Union of Police Association,
allow you to gather vital data including photo and fingerprints.
You would then be able to get vital information quickly to
authorities if the unthinkable should occur. Children can be
photographed and fingerprinted during their visit.
Deputy Steve Harris with the Lowndes County Dare Program
will be participating in our Child Safety Day activities in the
afternoon.
Leslie Brogdon, along with Monty, the little dog that survived
serious burns, will be on hand to provide valuable tips about
fire safety and how to prevent animal cruelty.
There will be refreshments for all who attend and each child will
receive a credit union piggy bank.

TOGETHER WE’RE BETTER
This year’s International Credit Union Theme, "Together
We're Better," recognizes the progress made around the
world as credit unions continue to work together and
forge new partnerships. Regardless of the country in
which they live, credit union members are discovering
their commonalities. And with the exchange of new
ideas, credit unions reach more members and offer better
services for everyone.
Since 1948, ICU Day has been celebrated on the third
Thursday of October. The day is set aside to reflect upon
the credit union movement’s history and to promote its
achievements. It honors those who have dedicated their
lives to the movement and is an opportunity to raise
funds for worthy credit union causes.
In honor of International Credit Union Day, October
18th, come by the office between the hours of 9:00 AM
and 4:00 PM for refreshments and register for door
prizes. If you are unable to stop by the office, you can
register for the prizes by emailing the credit union at
creditunion@gpvfcu.com. Please include your name,
account number, and phone number. You can also mail
the information to our office to reach us by October
19th. We look forward to seeing you!
