49th Annual Meeting Highlights

     Thanks to all the members/owners who attended thecredit union's 49th annual meeting. Board Chairman Charles Ray highlighted a very successful 2006. During the year, the credit union welcomed 3 new employee groups into its field of membership: Mighty Kleen, St.Barnabas Episcopal Church, and Tillman Insurance Agency, Inc.

     Mr. Ray commented that the credit union welcomed 442 new members during 2006, bringing the total membership to 2852. The credit union experienced positive growth during 2006 with assets increasing 9%, Shares increasing 9%, and Loans increasing 12%.

Congratulations to the following credit union members that were elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors: Mr. Chales Ray, Mr. Danny Godwin, and Mrs. Laverne Vickery. As a member-owned financial institution, all of our volunteers are vital to the contintinued success of Georgia Power Valdosta Federal Credit Union. It is this spirit of volunteerism that has made credit unions the uniquefinancial institutions they have become today.

     We are continuing to support the fight against cancer by having one more raffle for the 2007 Relay for Life event. Stop by your credit union or call to purchase $1.00 raffle tickets. The more tickets you purchase, the greater your chances of winning a large basket full of gifts for MOM. The Mother’s Day basket will be raffled off on Thursday, May 3rd. You do not have to be present to win. Please join us in supporting the fight against cancer.
