New ONLINE Home Banking Arrives April 19

Georgia Power Valdosta FCU will be converting to its new “Online” Home banking product after the close of business on April 18, 2006. The new banking product will be accessed in the same manner as you are currently accessing Active Website, through a link on
our web page. Actually, when you initially access new “Online” banking, you will enter your account number at the USER ID prompt and your current PIN in the Password prompt. You will be immediately asked to change your password. Your new password must be at least 6 characters with at least one of those characters being a number.

New “Online” banking will reference live account information. It will allow you more functionality in checking account balances, viewing history, transferring funds between accounts, requesting a stop pay, downloading data into your money management software, and paying bills electronically.

If the bill pay link is not active on the date of conversion, it will be activated shortly afterwards. Those of you interested in electronic bill pay watch for an in service announcement on our website.

Members Turn Out for the 48th Annual Meeting
A big Thank you to the many members/owners who attended their credit union's 48th annual meeting. President Charles Ray highlighted a very successful 2005. During the year, the credit union welcomed 5 new employee groups into its field of membership: J. Scott Summers, D. M. D.; C. C. Dickson Company; The Haven; Media Com; & Georgia Gulf Sulfur.

The credit union welcomed 352 new members bringing the total membership to 2589. In February, the credit union relocated to its brand new, full-service facility at 1707 Dow Street. By year-end, the credit union had put up some impressive growth figures: total assets grew 15% to $16.8 Million, total shares increased 16% to $14.8 Million, and total Loans grew 11% to $11.8 Million.

Mr. Ray recognized three board members who were stepping down thanking them for their devotion to the credit union; Andy Bostic, Deidre Whitfield, and Frank Wilson.

Congratulations to the following credit union members that were elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors: Mr. Charlie Birchmore, Mr. Charles Harris, and Mr.. Jim Pinkard. As a member-owned financial institution, all of our volunteers are vital to the continued success of Georgia Power Valdosta Federal Credit Union. It is this spirit of volunteerism that has made credit unions the unique financial institutions they have become today.
