47th Annual Meeting Highlights

Thanks to all the members/owners who attended the credit union’s 47th annual meeting. President Ray high-lighted a very successful 2004. During the year, the credit union welcomed 3 new employee groups into it’s field of membership: Astro Exterminating Services, Inc., Five Points Toyota, Inc., and Southern Home Care Services.

Mr. Ray commented that the credit union welcomed 325 new members during 2004, bringing the total member- ship to 2396. The credit union experienced positive growth during 2004 with assets increasing 11%, Shares increasing 10.25%, and Loans increasing 11%.

Major projects accomplished by the credit union during the year were:

  • Ground breaking for new office facility with completion set for early 2005
  • Issue of VISA Debit Cards converting over 500 ATM cards to debit cards
  • Introduction of a new Website designed to be more informative and user friendlier than it’s predecessor

Congratulations to the following credit union members that were elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors: Mrs. Jeanette Clanton, Mr. Russell Tittle, and Mr. Rhonnel White. As a member-owned financial institution, all of our volunteers are vital to the continued success of Georgia Power Valdosta Federal Credit Union. It is this spirit of volunteerism that has made credit unions the unique financial institutions they have become today.

Congratulations to the lucky members who won cash door prizes totaling $800. The Grand Prize winners were Charlie Harris-DVD/Video Player, and Rachel Flythe-Portable Gas Grill.
